Client Overview

Atlas 10 Pavement Performance Consulting disrupts the traditional reactive “break/fix” model for asphalt and concrete pavements. Utilizing GPS/Geodata mapping technology, Atlas 10 offers clear and accurate identification of pavement defects while providing a proactive approach to its maintenance.

Problem

While their data collection has always been exact, the medium through which they delivered the data to the client was once difficult to interpret, labor-intensive, and lacked scalability.

Robert Lakeberg, CTO, envisioned a far more efficient system: a centralized database that could be effortlessly updated and managed at the enterprise level. Such a program allows each client to know the right treatment, at the right time, at the right place.

Although Lakeberg had a general solution in mind, he needed an agile and collaborative partner to help him refine and execute his vision. Together, Seven Hills and Atlas 10 designed and developed a web portal that centralizes data in a painless and scalable format.

Solution

To bring Atlas 10’s vision to life, we adopted an agile approach that prioritized flexibility, responsiveness, and iterative development. Through bi-weekly sprint design meetings, we partnered closely with their team to ensure every feature aligned with their goals. This process allowed for ongoing feedback and refinement, fostering a dynamic development environment where ideas were continuously evaluated and adjusted.

The collaboration began by mapping out the primary requirements for the system, focusing on ease of use. We identified the pain points of their current system and worked with Robert Lakeberg, CTO, to break down his broad vision into actionable development phases.

Our team emphasized building a user-centric interface for their online portal, ensuring data could be effortlessly managed without extensive training. The portal’s architecture was built for scalability, allowing for seamless integration of new data sets and functions as the company’s needs evolved. The modular design also enabled Atlas 10 to maintain their commitment to data precision while making future updates straightforward and cost-effective.

The final product was a centralized online mapping portal that transformed raw survey data into a comprehensive and easily interpretable format. This portal simplified data updates and management. Through continuous collaboration, rigorous testing, and an iterative approach, we empowered Atlas 10 to provide their clients with precise, actionable insights—delivering the right treatment, at the right time, at the right place.
