Client Overview

SentriLock is one of the nation's leading lockbox providers for real estate. They design and create tech-forward bluetooth lockboxes with the industries' best access control.

Challenge

SentriLock wanted to break out of being only a lockbox provider. Seeing the evolving landscape, they wanted to offer agents and brokers better tools for doing their jobs than the industry currently offers.

The leaders at SentriLock had envisioned a system that allowed real estate agents to follow the entire lifecycle of their showings. They waned agents and brokers to see everything from what happened during scheduling to when the lockbox was accessed.

They wanted this expansion to be "baked in" to their existing app while also helping them plot a pathway forward to modernization.

Solution

In order for this service to be successful, it needed to be built in the same app and website. Users didn't want to switch between products, the true value is having everything they need in one project.

Their internal team had already started building out a new version of the web app but it was nowhere near production-ready. We started building in this system while also adding quality-of-life functionality to it to help them make it more production-ready.

In order to best move their infrastructure forward, we created completely new microservices to manage the interactions with the Showing Service. The existing API layer was outdated and didn't offer many of the scaling and stability benefits offered by modern systems, which lead to our decision to make new microservices.

We built the platform in langauges and frameworks that their team was comfortable in or wanted to include in their tech stack. We worked hand-in-hand with their development and QA teams to ensure requirements were met and the system functioned well.

Results

As a result of the work we completed, we’ve opened new gateways for revenue, created new standards for their APIs, and build out re-usable components so the system can be expanded even further.
